Agree. The lounge breakfast was awful. Especially on days where they got too creative. The stack of fried eggs with pesto and oil dripping all over it is really unappetizing. They'd do better just serving scrambled eggs every day.
Here this week post lounge closure and the breakfast downstairs is way way better. It's a small selection but it's all I need as a regular guest - decent quality smoked salmon, actually fresh scrambled eggs (feel like they must have used some powder for the lounge ones), yogurt, breads etc. Plus omelettes and eggs made to order if you want.
The breakfast at the Hyatt Regency SOMA is better. As is the hotel in general. They upgrade when available and the selection at breakfast is pretty sumptuous for a US hotel. But if you must stay at the 'Grand' Hyatt then I think the breakfast is currently upgraded!
It is a tiny area though so I can see how there'd be a wait on busy conference days. Right now - it's pretty empty.
