For the first time, my husband's app got a Fraud Dept (from India call center) call to make sure he was the person applying the BonVoy Bold card. The call came within 2 min after the application was thru but got a deferred response. The phone number used was not the same number on the App but the number from "public information" (my guess is from the credit report). FWIW the phone number on the application was used last year on a Chase card application which was instantly approved with big CL.
Fraud dept rep had no any other question but told him the application now was accepted and it would take 10 business days to get an outcome.
We plan to call Chase lending dept if no new card pops up after tonight (would pass 2 days since submitting the app yesterday morning). Based on previous experiences he still has plenty of room to get a new Chase personal card.
UPDATE
Called. The first rep said the application had passed the fraud check. He transferred the call to another rep who then actually was also from fraud dept but seemingly also had power to make approval decision. This rep went thru ID check much more thoroughly essentially asked all the information except income info, plus sent an OTP to the phone number listed on the application. Then she went away for a few minutes to review the application, came back with a Congratulation on approval.
We asked for expediting delivery. This had to be handled by a customer rep so another transfer. The expediting delivery was arranged, handling as if asking for a replacement card per the email that followed.
