The decision to park aircraft made sense at the time. The difference is that many of the other airlines reactivated aircraft that they have parked.

IMO, the decision to dump the a332s is AA leadership's LCC mentality; Subfleets = bad. We see this with the a321T as well.

IIRC, the a333s were slated for retirement even before COVID. COVID just accelerated the timeline.

The a332s - i cannot understand the thought process here. AA did not scrap them, they placed them into storage. As the 787 delays started and travel rebounded, they stubbornly refused to reactivate them. The purpoited QR purchase -was that anything more than a rumor? QR's a330 fleet uses GE CF6 engines while AA's are RR.
