I don't see any value in Lifemiles at this point. Even if you find availability at a decent redemption rate, there's a decent chance that by the time you transfer your miles and go to check out you're going to get some error. Whether it's an IT issue or phantom availability, you're stuck at that point with Lifemiles that can be devalued
at a moment's without notice. Not to mention onerous refund and change fees, poor call center service...
I can't imagine they would devalue again anytime soon, but they're severely throttling partner redemptions. Searching multiple routes there is way less availability than what was showing just a few weeks ago.
Even so I personally burned the few k miles I did have in there on a decent redemption that wasn't devalued the other day. I'll happily let my last 10 miles expire
I'm just glad I didn't sign up for a six month commitment with lm+ which was tempting and not a bad deal as late as last year.
