Also, today, I chatted with an AMEX agent (to have this in writing) and after she consulted with her supervisor, she confirmed that even if I have two Platinum Personal cards, exactly the same products, I should be receiving TWO MQD headstarts. That means 2x2500 MQDs.
Since this is year 2 of the Head Starts, there were already enough data points from last yer to confirm that you don't receive additional head starts for the same card product. The chat reps are notorious for giving incorrect information.
This is in line with the Amex T&Cs:
"Basic Delta SkyMiles Platinum and Platinum Business American Express Card Members (each, an "Eligible Card"), will receive two thousand five hundred (2,500) Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs) which will be deposited into their SkyMiles account linked to an Eligible Card during each Qualification Year.""
"Regardless of the number of Eligible Cards a SkyMiles Member may hold, each SkyMiles Member may only receive one $2,500 MQD deposit per Eligible Card type each Medallion Qualification Year and is limited to a maximum of four deposits across all Eligible Cards each Medallion Qualification Year (for $10,000 MQDs total)."
