Really I want it to just find me the single best (cheapest) fare meeting the criteria mentioned above.
After more reading and experimenting with the AI, I realize the current chatbots won't do the job. They are trained on large volumes of text. They are not trained how to do airline fare searches.
Just a note. The chatbots must also contend with ever changing (sometimes quickly) datasets. You have to expect that a non-specialist chatbot will have a delay for ingesting new data.
One other thing, and it might be because of the tinfoil hat I have to wear, but I would stay logged out when doing searches like this. You might get better results signed in, but the information is also tracked and a competent researcher could ferret that information out.
