Thanks for this info. I've got the QC35s (purchased in 2016) and just ordered replacement ear pads/cushions as the originals have seen better days. I tried out an Airpod Max set and even though those haven't been updated in a while (the audio tech), I was quite impressed with its NC. I thought perhaps NC in general has improved a fair bit since the 35s were released in 2016. As I've been quite happy with the QC35s, I was contemplating on getting the QC Ultras and retiring the 35s from the travel bag.
