Just to update on how my issue of damaged luggage with BA ended. After BA refused to do anything about it, I filled the Department of Transportation form for damaged luggage https://www.transportation.gov/lost-...amaged-baggage A few months later BA forked out 150USD, which partially covered a replacement luggage. Good on the DOT to enforce the US laws on liability for baggage issues!
