There is no track record for avios. The 18 (or 36) months period is counted for the account and not for any portion of avios. It is counted from the date of the most recent "activity" excluding transfers.
It follows if the account is inactive for 17 months, for example, and some avios are transferred into it, they will expire in just 1 month.

Your Avios are valid for 18 months from the latest Avios activity date. All available Avios will expire at the end of the 18th consecutive month for which you have not collected or used Avios. If Avios are collected or used on the first day of the month, the month in question is counted as the first of the 18 months. For any other day, the 18-month period will be counted from the start of the next month. Avios transfers between Finnair Plus accounts or between Finnair Plus account and British Airways Executive Club account are not counted as Avios activity and do not affect the Avios expiry date.
