May be a long shot as it is one year ago, but I am trying to book a flight from AKL-ZQN.

Have you got any idea if I can book the 14:00 flight, and change it to the 16:10 flight in case of any delays? Currently the 16:10 flight is more expensive than the 14:00 one.

as above - the free change is possible and can done on the app anytime from midnite on the ‘same day’ - but only if there is a seat available.
Note also than ZQN can suffer weather delays/cancellations at certain times of the year. Think carefully about what your Plan B would be if you don’t make it in time to join your longhaul flight.
