We were off the ground almost exactly as flighty had predicted and it was a smooth take off and ascent. Nice clear skies and a great view from the left hand side of the plane.

As soon as the seatbelt light was off the team started the snack run, which was the same love corn and water offering as the outbound leg. I declined both as I have a little bit of Buy on Board preordered.

The buy on board that I had preordered was the new chicken schwarma sandwich plus a flat white coffee. The chicken filling was pretty tasty, my only complaint is the bread was a bit dry. Tocsin - It was gluten free, which I hadn’t spotted when I ordered it.

Then the main Buy on Board service started and I was amazed to hear that they had run completely out of sandwiches and rolls by the time they reached row 12. There are going to be a lot of disappointed people further back! I did pick up a couple of Jack Daniels and another coffee to keep me hydrated

A little while later I popped to the front to ask about sky flyer log books as someone has asked me for four, and I received the ‘they’re at check in’ response. Never fails to amaze me how few crew actually know where to find them.

The remainder of the flight passed peacefully reading a book on my kindle and with my noise cancelling headphones on to muffle the sound of the screaming child five rows back.

The pilots announcement came over with about fifty minutes to landing to say that we had made good time but there was a delay into Heathrow and that we could expect to be holding for ten minutes or more but would still be on time for arrival

And we have just arrived, fifteen minutes early. It’ll be a trip landside for me to get to T5

Next Stop: T5 and the Concorde Room
