Hilton can be overrun with US cruise passengers and the vibe there can be very US style Hilton. Not saying there is anything wrong with that, but it isn't everyone's cup of tea so to say. Pools are larger than most of the smaller boutique type hotels though.

Cocumella to many would be the more stylish property that gives more of the Sorrentine/ Almafi coast type feeling. It's smaller and more exclusive, really depends on personal preferences.

Personally we stayed in Seiano at Grand Hotel Angiolieri (also SLH) which is lovely with great views (except lowest category of rooms) and good service and it isn't far from Sorrento, but we did have a car.
