For example, if I make the cheapest non-refundable reservation I can find in order to use expiring IHG TravelBank funds and then cancel after 24 hours, I understand I'll get a FFC for the value of the ticket, presumably something around or under $100. You seem to be saying that I could not use that FFC for a reservation for two people, even if the new reservation is for more (probably much more) than double the FFC. Am I understanding this correctly?
If I'm understanding the situation correctly, then I would make two reservations, one for me (using the FFC) and one for P2, and make those reservations early enough that I could get two seats together. Is that correct? Thanks for any help.
You can make a reservation for 2 people together and use the FFC on your name to apply towards payment for yourself and then pay with a credit card for the remaining balance on the reservation.
I was responding to the OP asking if they can use the FFC from a canceled reservation in his name for himself, wife, and baby. The answer to that is, no, you can't use the funds from an FFC to cover 2 (or 3 or more) passengers. He can use those funds to cover his own ticket and will need to pay cash/cc for the others. If he wants to have an FFC derived from TB funds to cover the wife's ticket, he needs to buy one in her name as well and convert to FFC.
