A little follow on from my previous comment. One of the joys of writing these reports live is that everyone can chip in as we go along and it makes the whole thing far more interactive so if you’re reading my reports and feeling like you cannot comment along the way, have no fear, I’m more than happy to hear from everyone!

And with that, back to our regularly scheduled programming

I eventually chose the chicken strips as the second dish of the day, but unfortunately these were disappointing, overcooked, tough and greasy.

Unfortunately they were also all sold out of deserts except for the apple pies, so it was time to move onto coffee and a digestif.

I’d never heard of Basarana before but it sounded interesting and I felt it was worth a try, and I’m a fan. The aniseed flavour was more muted than I expected and it was a really pleasant digestif.

And now it is time to close off the night with another coffee and a Courvoisier XO
