At LGW that will get you into Plaza Premium when on EasyJet, Lloyds will get you a pizza express credit in the South terminal and access to No. 1 fairly reliably. So there's a perfectly viable strategy which I've been operating for a couple of years that combines low cost travel with lounge access, although I don't drink a lot in lounges. Outside the UK you're usually in the same lounge BA uses - certainly the case for Malaga.
