What is pricing if you book as two separate roundtrip tickets? Fares change all the time, so it is difficult to comment without examples (what did you pay before?, what are you seeing now?). It appears they did change stopover fees to EUR 300 for coach and EUR 500 for business class on discounted tickets for EU-South America effective December 2nd, 2024 which could be a part of the higher pricing. Previously, it would have been free for NYC, and EUR 50 for MIA.
