As has been said before , that is a violation of the T&Cs for the UCs,. Other lounges may allow it
but United does not.
Food and beverages are provided for consumption and use inside of Lounges and may not be taken outside of Lounges.
While taking a couple of cookies or even 1 sandwich will likely not cause an issue, a filling a ziplock bag with sandwiches will possibly get you asked to leave, and your UC membership revoked (and even closing of your MP account).
From UA's perspective, if this was commonly allowed, it would significantly raise the cost of operating the UCs.
There have been folks in this forum who claimed to have reported this sort of activity to United employees.
While you may think it should be allowed, I would not knowing joining something if I could not live with their rules.
