That is the way I would go.
I have never been to Shanghai and as a woman travelling alone I’m a bit weary of taxis and taxi drivers. I much prefer crowded public transport as it feels safe. Besides, as I have mentioned, I originally booked a meet&greet transfer service from Booking com but it was cancelled and now they are not offering any taxi services in the Shanghai area at all. Also, I will not have Alipay or WeChat so I understand it complicates getting a taxi locally when I’m only able pay with cash or card..
