BA57 JNB = ARPN

BA55 JNB is running, but late, 19:10 at the moment compared to 18:25. This sometimes is due to trying to consolidate passengers and displaced crew from the cancellation. I can't think what the JNB airport restriction would be, so any intelligence welcome. Jet fuel shortage?
JNB had flagged potential fuel shortages from Feb 2nd onwards due to a refinery fire at the beginning of January, and Lufthansa had announced they’d fly extra crew down and shuttle their planes to Windhoek during the JNB layover to refuel for the evening flights. However, as of last week JNB announced they had secured 121 million litres of Jet Fuel to see them through February until the refinery reopens. I don’t see any other cancellations on the JNB boards and tonight’s flight was due to be serviced by G-XLED, which happens to have spent the week in LHR maintenance, so I think this is BA playing a little fast and lose with the true reason for the cancellation unless a BA insider can provide some information we don’t have access to.

For any BA57 passengers who are delayed beyond tonight, here is the Press release stating fuel issues won’t be a problem at JNB until the refinery reopens if you want to challenge BA’s cancellation reason at CEDR:

JNB Fuel Supply Okay
