I've had post-flight airline missing miles and they always want a copy of the boarding pass (which usually disappears off the phone after a few days.) If I were you, I'd definitely print the ETA confirmation.
I do the same thing on international trips; I've had immigration officials in a couple of countries (UK and Finland) ask for proof of a return or onward pre-paid air tickets, as well as claims by hotel staff that we didn't have a reservation.
