Looking for input in making a choice between a couple of ways to connect in PHX with a recent injury.
I had a recent injury and getting by with boot and crutches. or boot and non-motorized scooter for longer distances.
So I have a couple of choices how to manage flights next week with a connection in PHX (domestic to domestic and just over an hour)
Option 1)I use boot and crutches with wheelchair assist for long distances in airport at departure, connection and arrival
OR
Boot and knee scooter and gate checking the scooter for each flight.
Has anybody had recent experience with wheelchair requests for a connection here (domestic to domestic)? Are they regularly right there when you disembark? I've seen airports where they arent there right away.
How about gait checking an assistance device like a knee scooter. Is it a long wait to get it returned on the jet bridge?
The knee scooter gives me a bit more independence adn easier to deal with my checked bag at arrival but I can see where gate checking might really slow things down.
TIA for thoughts/experiences
