I just wanna get gold status because of the lounge access. that's it and maybe some free upgrades?

Guys, I did research the easiest way to get SA gold is through Asiana. Is it true? I can just fly Gimpo to Jeju for 50x times instead of spending crazy amount of $?

If lounge access is the only thing you want, you can get the United Club card and that gives you lounge access to *A lounges when flying on *A carriers, just like *G. That's the cheapest way.

OZ is a very easy way to get *G, but the airline will alas be going away in the next few years.
