My understanding was the same since I saw the combined balance on QR as my total balance, but somehow QR wasn't able to deduct from BA during the actual booking, so ticket went on HOLD, taxes deducted, but no Avios were deducted. QR support now needs all Avios in QR to issue the ticket, and neither pulling from QR or pushing from BA is working!
