The timings allow aircraft to leave Europe late at night and arrive back in the early morning

Unfortunately for the Caucasus and other countries nearby you have this issue. EU flights depart late in the evening in Europe (allows for a nice connection from TATL and late European departures), arrives at TBS/EVN/GYD in late evening 2-3AM, stays there until 3-6AM and departs back, allowing for an easy connection to the morning bank of flights in Europe.
Very convenient for the airlines, but not for pax
I do understand the late departures from Europe to cater for the connection from TATL and other destinations. But why can't they hold the morning departures from TBS until 6-7am? This would make for a more humane arrival back in to continental Europe, and connecting pax would still easily make their morning flights onwards.
Very inconvenient for me personally but will probably end up booking Turkish through IST instead of a direct flight with another carrier, just to avoid a 0300-0500 departure..
