MEL by far because of the terminals all being under 1 roof.

But depending on when, do not do 2 hours between flights on separate tickets. Fog can be bad in MEL and you’ll not be protected and no way of dealing with it on QF’s Wifi-less international fleet.

You must clear immigration and customs first, then you will walk to domestic T1 or T3/4 and then process domestic security.
