Scoot vs BR/CI TPE-CTS

I need to fly a one-way from Taipei to Sapporo this June and there are two options under consideration:

1. BR for about $435 in regular coach
2. Scoot in their "premium" class (whatever that is) for about $325
3. We do not fly CI for other personal reasons - but they seem to price the same as BR

I haven't flown Scoot in years, certainly not on their 787 so I'm not sure what this 'premium seat' is like, but it seems to include a meal, carry-on bag and checked bag - although we each will have a decent size (for North American travelers) rolling carry-on plus a backpack each, and both will be overweight by far, so we never let the check-in agents see the bags - but want to make sure they aren't grabbed and weighed at the gate. We do not check bags.

So I'm trying to figure out the downsides of flying Scoot

1. no lounge at TPE - although I think there is one lounge I can get into with my Amex card, but it's a very basic lounge
2. no frequent flyer accrual
3. the route is subject to government approval - so there is the risk the trip won't be flown and we'll be scrambling for a replacement ticket while probably fighting with Scoot for a refund

Any feedback from others who tried their 787 premium experience? Any other downside I'm missing?
