Question Qatar Airways change their upgrade system
Qatar Airways has decided to shake things up with their ticket upgrade system?

I booked economy tickets in mid-December 2024 for an April trip: MAN - DOH - AKL - DOH - MAN

Right after booking, I checked for upgrade availability, and, surprise-surprise, only DOH - MAN was up for grabs.

Fast forward to early January 2025, I checked again—same story, just DOH - MAN.

Then, on January 31, not expecting much but feeling lucky, I checked again, and behold — DOH - AKL had magically appeared. I upgraded instantly, and the confirmation email landed in my inbox faster than you can say "Qsuite".

Today, I went back to check AKL - DOH and Qatar had switched things up

The request form was different — I had to select the specific leg, and then an email arrived with service request number.

So, has anyone else encountered this mysterious new system, or am I just part of some elaborate experiment?
