Surely the priority agents will take care of your luggage. We are not at the point where you will need to go deal with your tags.
This said, usually (I imagine same at YVR) they have a priority line and an SE line. Wth the former longer than the latter. Sometimes if only a couple of agents, calling the SEs from their line ahead of the people in the general priority line.
