I just rechecked my statement, and my LAX-JFK-LAX standalone return earned per eligible spend last month, so I am not sure on which basis you are making your statement and correcting me. Moreover, there is no information on ba.com to suggest that there are any exceptions to how we earn TPs/Avios on AA. Nor are there any exceptions to how AAdvantage members earn whatever they earn on BA. So, while I can't comment on Transpacific flights, standalone domestic flights definitely earn per spend.
