These are almost certainly the first two of several concessions. I cannot foresee anything other than a reduction in status thresholds or an increase in tier point earning given the parity required for the IB scheme.
on your last point, I have seen the same suggested elsewhere, that there is a problem because IB is having to set its revenue thresholds lower than BA.
However, it has always been the case that ffps were not aligned even within IAG, never mind across all of oneworld, in terms of how much you needed to spend to hit the equivalent level. within alliances there are always some ffps known to be cheaper & easier to get status with.
with revenue based status this is just more explicit and clearer to compare. i don't see why one ffp having different spend thresholds to another is in itself a problem? or am i not understanding the problem?
