The change to allow BA Holidays flights to be eligible does make retaining Gold for 26/27 that little bit more achievable.

Having planned Apr-Dec 2025 out well in advance and being inline for 1150 oTP when the new system was announced we are already 15353 nTP each of the way towards 20K in the Apr 25 - Apr 26 collection year.

Travelling only as a pair and only on BA Holidays that left us with a gulf of over 9000 quid required spend for it to be split and for either of us to be able to keep Gold. I couldn't and wouldn't even begin to justify that. I've never chased a Tier Point and I'm not going to start doing so now for several times the price.

With these increased bonuses though and the extended deadline for travel, a Q1 2026 BAH (Which we would have normally done anyway) with 2 CE Domestics + 2 CW/F segments shaves either 2300(CW)/2900(F) off that total spend. That does put us more inline with what we'd normally spend on one of our bigger holidays. So perhaps, just maybe, one final extra year of Gold through to April 27.

Beyond next year though, even if these bonuses continue, it's a drop in the ocean and with the way we travel, the fact it's always together and the kind of holidays we take, we're out of this game.
