Stayed here last Thursday night on a super low rate ($126 all in) so that probably influences my positive impression.
Anyways here are my thoughts:
- Proactively upgraded into a corner king (had a smidge of a view of ESB)
- They sent the digital key to me around 12.30pm (I didn't arrive til 8pm so didn't need the early check in)
- Didn't have to touch the front desk, just went straight to the room.
- Spent the $36 F&B credit on 1 pint in the bar (~$17, they chuck a 22% 'Service Charge' onto everything) and about $20 worth of snacks/beer in the store they have. Got the $36 credit no issues.
- Room was big for NYC, otherwise it was functional, nothing worth noting good or bad tbh.
- The lobby bar is terrific, very classy spot and the store is pretty solid too albeit both a very expensive even for NYC
- Location is what you're paying for here, its unbeatable - particularly if you're taking public transit to/from LGA/JFK - the E train is literally next door.
- The elevators to get to the lobby are however pretty damn slow even on what was almost certainly a low occupancy night, I can see how that'd be immensely annoying with a full house
Would definitely stay here if the price was right, I'd say anything up to $300-350 is probably a fair price for this in peak season. Anything about that, I think you'd be overpaying.
