BA Status Converts to Flying Blue Platinum - Flying with Virgin
Booked a Premium Economy fare to New York with VS.
Seat selection for free but not the ‘Preferred Seating’. Preferred seating was the first three rows of the premium cabin. Virgin Gold (the status holder) would get this for free but nobody else in the booking. To select a preferred seat was £60 per segment for me.
No Upper Class fast track - just the regular fast track at Terminal 3, which was very similar to the BA fast track at T3. Not particularly fast.
Group 2 boarding.
At the Clubhouse, the agent couldn’t see my Flying Blue Platinum status in my booking. It was showing in Manage My Booking but I had to dig out my FB membership card, which I’d downloaded to my Apple Wallet. Even then the desk agent couldn’t get it to stick to my booking. Eventually waved I was in to the lounge.
Virgin have imposed a 3 hour limit on entry to the Clubhouse. It wasn’t an issue for me because I was under the 3 hour window. However, over on the FT VS forum, there are examples of the agents enforcing this during busy periods.
