I share the mainstream view here that this "1% climbdown" by BA was probably not worthwhile for the image of them having to admit partial failure, while not actually making the programme any more appealing to flyers.
I'm not seeing the loyalty programme drive any incremental flights on BA from me. Which is a problem, as the hard or soft product certainly don't bring me to BA either, so I'll just be flying with them when their routes are the only options.
