The maths still doesn’t really work for me - but I acknowledge I may be one of the customers they want rid of. To give my personal example I do ~5 CW return flights a year, previously that would get me Gold (with a few short haul flights sprinkled in).
I tend to buy during sales so my average ticket price was ~$2500. So the changes meant I wouldn’t be near Gold ($12,500 of spend, probably <$10k net of taxes) and would nearly have to double my flying.
The updated bonus will get me an additional 4000 points, so I’m still not reaching Gold.
Appreciate they are actually ‘listening to customer feedback’ for once, but I’ll stay resigned to burning my remaining Avios and then choosing whichever airline is best for my journey!
