That’s exactly what happened! I called Barclays last night, and they told me to verify the HA miles number on my card matches my existing HA miles account. It didn’t! Even though I thought I had supplied my HA account number when applying for the Barclays card, they created a new account for me, and now I need to call HA to have the two accounts merged. Hopefully when I do that, the miles and EQMs will transfer over to my old account. Just not sure whether I will need to redo the status match with Alaska, or if they will detect the EQMs automatically? I’ll ask HA when I call this morning. Thanks for the suggestion! Even though I stumbled on the solution last night, had I not, your post would have led me to the right conclusion!
If you don't have anything on the old account that you care about and you haven't linked to Alaska yet, I would suggest just using the new account when you link to Alaska.
