After extensive renovations, the Hotel Ardent Dayton Downtown, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, opened today in Dayton, Ohio. The hotel is housed in the former Barclay office building whose construction began exactly one hundred years ago. This was a time when the profession of bicycle repairman was highly valued, and owning a bicycle was a luxury reserved only for the wealthy. You could visit one of those bicyle shops: Wright Cycle Company Complex - Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park (U.S. National Park Service) - that is: if the Park Service still exist next week, you never know.

And it doesn't stop with this one hotel. In a few months, Hilton Garden Inn Dayton Downtown will also open, not just any standard HGI, but part of the renovated Dayton Arcade, which also had been closed for many years.

Hilton Garden Inn end of The Arcade, when it was still boarded up in 2019.
On YouTube, there's a substantial documentary about The Arcade titled "Walking the Giant."
