Had a colleague on this LHR-DEL flight. He said they re-routed them via BOM (not 100% sure if it was that same evening) but that flight was delayed and they misconnected in DEL, ultimately arriving significantly after originally scheduled.
I've pointed him toward UK261 resources, is there somewhere he needs to get "proof" that the original cancellation was technical?
Would the reason for the LHR-BOM delay have any impact on compensation (e.g., if that was weather/extraordinary circumstances)?
