My friend and I both have Alaska visa consumer cards with companion fares available. We want to do a multi city trip from LAX-JFK-SFO-LAX (with stops in both JFK and SFO...the system allows it). What happens to the last segment (SFO-LAX) if the companion doesn't board and cancels? Can they use it later? Or is the value of that segment just a small amount of money from the $99 companiom fare and taxes? Do they just divide that by # of segments?
I read earlier if it's the other way around and the companion certificate owner doesn't board then the companiom can't board. But what about when the companion cancels?
And if the stop in SFO is just a long connection imstead of an overnight?
