Now the agency I booked through is saying that because I didn’t call (I’m overseas, and they only gave me an option to call a US number) within 24 hours, Air Canada automatically accepted the change on my behalf and I no longer have the option to select a different routing. Has anyone had this happen? I can’t imagine they really cut it off that quickly, but I’m getting nowhere with the agency, and I don’t know whether to believe this is really an Air Canada policy.
Welcom to FT (though I'm sure you'll get a more official welcome shortly).

When you say you booked through an agency, I assume you mean a Travel Agency either in person or an Online Travel Agency (OTA). I have has this happen on a booking through an OTA. Either way if you did use a TA/OTA you need to deal with them directly as AC cannot help you. To my knowledge, AC does not automatically accept scedule changes if not accepted and definitly not within 24 hours. I have a booking that went weeks without accepting.

Hopefully you used a good agency that can help you as OTA are rather wekk know for being difficult in the case of a schedule change.

Good luck.
