Not the first time I've said this but it still surprises me how lackadaisical some people are with bookings. This fare must have cost several thousand pounds. Either:

(a) that amount of money doesn't mean much to you, in which case losing it doesn't mean much either, or
(b) it is real money, in which case you really should check what you're buying before paying it.

I have sympathy where things are hidden or unclear in the booking process, but there is no suggestion from OP that was the case here.
