But they need to entertain the idea of hesitating if they wish to get a good price from Airbus. After all, airplane price is not a negligible factor.
And also this is exactly the reason why CX publicly said they had huge interest in Comac recently.
By the way I think B78X may still have a shot. Don’t forget the 30 A339 on order are not enough to replace 40+ A333 and 17 B773. CX could exercise the 30 A339 option, or they could simply turn to Boeing if offered a good price.
