You can't really take the national psyche out of the airline, and in the case of these two nations, it seems that not much has changed when it comes to their own take and interpretation of the word "ruthless" in the last 80 years
I wouldn't be surprised if at some point it will be possible to find both the logos of SkyTeam and Star Alliance on an ITA plane, them having simply forgotten to remove the former, or not really caring.
