It would be interesting to know if a penalty fee was levied for yanking ITA out of Skyteam so abruptly; in any case, it seems the new overlords were exceptionally eager to terminate AZ's membership even faster than I had anticipated.

It's kind of ironic that it takes them so long to get into Star Alliance, but they are so quick to get out of Skyteam.

(The AZ website still has the Skyteam roundel on the website; that said, most AZ aircraft still have Alitalia branding on some of the fittings in the galley, so they're possibly not as ruthless at removing old logos etc as the new overlords may be!!!! )
