I checked out the (I only saw one) Reddit on this topic today and, while there was a bit of debate about what data is sent over, most people seem to believe that DOB is always included...and that the officer is supposed to compare this against your ID by manual inspection or machine scan.

There were also a few commenters who failed the birthday check, and the resolution was simply walking back to check-in and asking a counter person to change the DOB in the ticket on their end.

I'm still trying to come to grips with the idea of intentionally screwing up just so we can correct our mistake later, by the way. Probably not a first for FT, though.
