I am struggling to see what they will lose. Yes, EMD is a uniquely OW thing, but in many ways BA Silver/OW SPH is better than what the top status in the other 2 alliances offers. Perhaps, my ego is not hurt because I am paying that much for my travel myself and I know exactly what I get and what I am paying for. If one’s ego is bankrolled by someone else, they may take a different view of their importance.
