I rarely have the need to call AFKL at all. So I am not sure about the value of Plat service line to myself. This past year I made 2 longhaul roundtrips on AFKL business class and several intra Europe short hauls with them. All booked online. I didn't even call them once.
If you have straightforward itineraries, fair. The second you need to make a complex award/revenue booking with stopovers, an open jaw etc, the Platinum Service Line is invaluable.
Or in the case of IRROPS. They've saved me multiple times over the years.
