Sorry if this is the wrong place for this - I'm new here so not 100% sure where this should go, so if this is the wrong place, I'm happy to move it! So my family and I (5 adults) have never been to Europe before, so we decided that our next holiday should be off to Europe later this year! We've had a lot of thinking about where we want to go and what we want to do, and we've narrowed it down to England, France, Italy and Greece - more specifically, probably Crete. The plan is to land somewhere, train throughout Europe then leave from elsewhere - my thinking was landing in London, taking a train through France and Italy before getting to Greece and leaving from there. In my research, I found out about ITA matrix - it's been so helpful and cool and I'm probably only scratching the surface of what it can actually do, but it's been amazing so far!

In my research and playing around with ITA matrix, I found an itinerary that looks like it might work (though maybe I've done something wrong? Still not 100% sure). The price isn't bad (though if there's a cool way to to get it a little cheaper with ITA matrix we won't complain!) It goes from CNS-LHR on Monday 20th October, then CHQ-BNE on the 18th of November. I found one set of flights that is purely LH (if I'm reading this right). I can't upload photos or links, but the itinerary is as follows (copied from ITA matrix):

(side note for the itinerary - when I look up CNS-LHR and CHQ-BNE for the dates, there is actually a version of this that flies back on Swiss Air instead of Lufthansa and stops in at ZRH instead of FRA, and is about $200 cheaper per person. I wasn't sure if these are separate tickets or if this is one ticket, since it's listed as "Multiple Airlines" on ITA matrix, but would this be valid and ok? Or would it be "safer" to get a fully Lufthansa ticket? Sorry, that's probably ITA matrix/overseas travel 101 but I'm still very new and trying to figure out how it all works!)

So I went to book this flight on the LH website, but when I tried, it just said that there were no flights that matched this route. I tried a one way from CNS-LHR and that worked, but when I tried a one way from CHQ-BNE, it failed, so maybe there's an issue with that route specifically? That said, I'm still too new at all this to know what or why it's failing? Is there something in ITA that tells you?

I also tried calling LH just in case and they said they couldn't see it in their system, so I'm a little confused how it all works. Is there a way to save this itinerary somehow? Or is this something that just doesn't work at all and we need to go back to the drawing board? Is there something else I can do for it? Sorry if these are basic questions, it's my first time looking into all this and figuring it all out, and I feel like I'm so close to making the flights actually work for a change but it's just out of my reach :P
