Trying to book a multi city trip but it defaults to Economy Basic without luggage allowance, while Economy with bags should be around 10 GBP extra per person. I can add bags to the booking later in the step, but they want 400 GBP for that! Tried to go via Skyscanner, Google Flights, Kayak, which all only offer the cheapest option without bags. Momondo offers at least a link to the Etihad website for the higher packages, but when I click on it I get an error message on the Etihad website. Any other way to book Etihad multi-city flights directly on their website with a higher package? I have an Amex offer, otherwise I would just book through a OTA.
I found the ON:Y way to do this is to call...
I recently called the Contact Centre to try this again and successfully booked a Deluxe class multi-city itinerary. MAN-AUH-ICN-AUH-MAN.
I initially used the website to get the Basic fare, this is the only option online, I went right through to the purchase page filling on my EY Guest details and email and phone number etc.. I then closed the page, it saved a temporary PNR in my Manage Bookings.
I then called the CS - luckily I have access to the Platinum line - and explained my dilemma. I quoted the temp PNR to make the process faster and they then quoted me the Deluxe/Comfort/Value fares. I was surprised that the difference for my itinerary was about £110 between Basic and Deluxe for 4 legs!
Hope that helps.
