Both your plans seem solid, but I’d personally go with the first option – it aligns meals earlier with HK time and gives you a smoother transition without too long a stretch without food.

Some people swear by the Argonne Anti-Jet Lag Diet, which alternates feasting and fasting days before travel. Others follow time-restricted eating, where they only eat in a set window (like 8 hours) in the destination time zone.

Hydration is also key – flights dehydrate you fast, and that can make jet lag worse. Do you plan to shift your sleep schedule too, or just focus on meals?
